I am so excited I am going to do a One Day Milk Test with AGS this year! I have my 6 Does but I plan on doing the Milk test with 5 of them because Analise is a little behind on her Paperwork but it should be resolved soon. I am a newbie to this Milk test thing but I have been able to find several websites and links Including Info through AGS on the rules and regulations guiding the milk test system. I would really like to become a Milk tester one day and plan on taking the test sometime soon to be able to be a Tester for other Herd Owners. But for now I have a friend taking the test for when I get my permit Back.
For My Miniature Does you would need 35pt and for Standard size Does you Need 100pt to get a star.
It is 5.55pt x LBS of Milk
1.11pt x LBS of Butterfat
0.0555 x Each Day Fresh
So you Add each of these amounts together and that = the # of Points to earn a *D
I am going to reserve some Doelings this year so that when they Freshen I can put them on Milk test and get my Buck Galileo his +S which is going to be great when my *D from this year have bucklings with him they will all receive their *S and I will be able to sell them for more than I would those without their stars.
